About Williams Elementary

Everette L. Williams Elementary School opened in the summer of 2020 to accommodate the fast growth in the southeast portion of Georgetown, TX and was paid for with funds from the 2018 Bond. To honor the history of GISD, the Board at their November 2018 meeting, approved moving the Williams name to the new school. 

This new school was named Everette “Pop” Williams, who served as the high school principal in GISD for 19 years at the site of the original Georgetown High School at 507 E. University Avenue. That same campus later served as an elementary school under his name. In 2018, the historic building was converted again to become the Georgetown ISD Hammerlun Center for Leadership and learning. 

"Pop" Williams had a lovable personality with a true heart for kids, and naming a school in his honor did - and still does - seem appropriate," said Dr. Fred Brent, Superintendent. "We believe that the name Williams should continue to preside over a space that directly serves kids," Brent said. 

Upon officially opening, Williams became Georgetown ISD’s 10th elementary campus, serving Pre-K through 5th grade.
